      The island of Madagascar is not a continent, but it has a corundum distribution that is as rich and diverse as just about any other land mass on the planet.  Here are a few examples from the collection.  The first two are huge and very rare.  Could the "Star of India" actually be Madagascan? (See last photo in the third row below)

  This crystal is one of my favorites,  It is dubly terminated and has spectacular vicinal forms (far more detailed than these pictures show), even on the smaller interpenetrant twins.
