       There are numerous corundum localities in the American Northwest.  Most of the gem localities are in Montana.  There is an important new discovery of ruby (most specimen or cab grade) in Wyoming.  There is a belt of sub-gem deposits which has been tracked more or less continuously from Bozeman, Montana McCall, Idaho.   There are a few interesting localities in Colorado as well.
